Leaflet of “Q&A on Notification on Charge(s) and Conviction(s) by Registered Social Workers”

[30/11/2022]

According to section 24 of the Social Workers Registration Ordinance (Cap. 505) (“the Ordinance”), a registered social worker who has, at any time on or after the date of the statutory declaration made by him seeking to be registered as a registered social worker, been charged with or convicted of any offence, whether in Hong Kong or elsewhere, shall as soon as reasonably practicable serve a notice in writing on the Board. The Board will consider the qualification for registration in accordance with section 17 of the Ordinance based on the circumstances notified by the registered social worker.

In order to assist registered social workers to better understand the scope and procedures of reporting, the Board has published a leaflet (with both Chinese and English version) for your download and reference (https://www.swrb.org.hk/en/Content.asp?Uid=228).
